Eye care kids enjoy

Dr. Benjamin Turner sees children from six months up. Exams feel like games — picture charts, lights, and lenses — while we assess the vision skills school demands: tracking across a page, focusing near to far, and comfortable eye teaming.

  • First exams from 6 months, school checks from age 3
  • Myopia-control programs to slow progressing nearsightedness
  • Bendable kids’ frames with a one-year breakage warranty

Built around young eyes

School-readiness checks

We test the tracking, focusing, and teaming skills behind reading — things a basic school screening can miss.

Myopia control

Specialty contacts and low-dose atropine programs that can slow myopia progression in growing eyes.

Durable eyewear

Flexible, playground-proof frames in colors kids pick themselves, fitted with adjustable comfort temples.

2

Game-like tests

Picture charts and matching games measure vision accurately without needing letter names or reading.

Parent questions, answered

We recommend a first exam between 6 and 12 months, again at age 3, and yearly once school starts — or any time you notice squinting or head-turning.

Screenings catch obvious distance blur. Our exam also checks eye health, teaming, tracking, and focusing — the skills reading depends on.

That is completely normal — and expected. Our pediatric techniques work with wiggles, short attention spans, and non-readers of every age.
